COMMUNITY SAFETY - Just a 'click' away www.stalbans.org.uk

28 June 2004

St Albans City and District Community Safety Partnership launched its new its Community Safety Website this week.

www.stalbanscsp.org.uk

The website will provide the public with information about what is happening in the area to tackle crime and disorder and anti-social behaviour and projects underway to promote community safety. It gives information on a range of issues from what to do about abandoned vehicles to how to seek help if you are a victim of domestic violence.

Community Support Manager, Chris Roach said “St Albans is a comparatively safe place to live and work. However, like everywhere else in the country we have problems. There is a lot of good work going on in the District to tackle crime and disorder and we wanted to get the message across both to residents and to people who work in, or travel through, the area about the positive action we are taking.”

Visitors to the website will also be able to find out about how the Community Safety Partnership operates and the large number of projects it is funding or supporting.

The website is being promoted widely throughout the District, with flyers and posters being distributed to Town and Parish Councils, libraries, schools, Neighbourhood Watch Schemes, information centres and doctors surgeries.

St Albans City and District Community Safety Partnership includes St Albans City and District Council, Hertfordshire Constabulary, Hertfordshire County Council, Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue Service, Hertfordshire Police Authority and St Albans & Harpenden Primary Care Trust.
