Drug Interventions Programme (DIP)
"Out of crime, into treatment" - The Drug Interventions Programme is a critical part of the Government's strategy for tackling drugs.
It began in 2003 as a three-year programme to develop and integrate measures - known as "interventions" - for helping adult drug-misusing offenders out of crime and into treatment.
We will continue our work for the foreseeable future, with funds of around £165 million a year. The processes developed will gradually become the normal way of working with drug-misusing offenders across England and Wales.
